Health Care
The World Health Organization defines health as a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. Eating right, exercising and sleeping well play an equal role in the prevention of infections and diseases. However, a good sense of self, a loving support network, and the potential for continued personal growth is also important to our overall wellbeing. Health care service issues include the licensing and regulation of health care facilities (such as hospitals, trauma care centers, and long-term care facilities) and the credentialing of health care providers (such as doctors, nurses, chiropractors, and mental health professionals).
Health is not a negative virtue signifying absence of disease. It is something positive, implying an abundance of vitality, vigor and youthfulness. Physical stamina, mental alertness and clarity, and spiritual poise are the blessings of good health. |
